Like colored vinyl, but all reissues need to be double LP I think for better sound, only being 180gr is not enough.
Marilbine
Actually, 180 gram doesn't mean anything. It's just a little story that's been spread around so that the pressing plants could produce more plastic and jack up the prices. The record being thicker has no effect on the sound, and that's a well proven fact. "180 gram" stickers are to hipsters what peanut butter on a mouse trap is to a mouse: nothing but bait.
Yggdi
It's really not much different from the CD, or from the original LP either. Also, the allegations about background noise are untrue. All it needs is a good wash, like any other brand new record fresh out of the pressing plant, and you'll see that the static will go away.

I don't know if any of you listened to this reissue, but it sounds terrible. Loud surface noise in between songs. Had the same experience with the reissue of "The Ritual"... anyone else hear this crap??? Disrespectful to such a great band.
Damdyagab
I'm not experiencing any loud surface noise from my copy. I compared it to my old CD copy and they sound nearly identical on my system. So, it's far from terrible in my opinion. However, I agree with the others that the Music on Vinyl pressing is superior in every way. And I find it funny that this LP is supposed to be gold because it looks more like pumpkin orange.
Blackredeemer
The Metal Blade reissues are really bad. The MOV reissue of Low, however, is very good.
Kikora
Listening to it for the first time now, I agree it sounds pretty bad. Bummed to hear you say the same about "The Ritual", I'm getting that in the mail tomorrow. Save your money folks.
Sharpbinder
Ok, I just compared both version. The Metal Blade is AWFUL. Less volume, bass and dynamic than the MOV version. Throw the "gold" one away :)
HyderCraft
Just received it, but even the quality of the cover is pathetic (compared to the Music For Vinyl version that has been released at the same time). Will let you know once I have time to listen to it.
