Henry Gross born April 1, 1951 is an American singer-songwriter best known for his association with the group Sha Na Na and for his hit song, Shannon. Gross was born in Brooklyn, New York City, New York. His mother's love for music encouraged his pursuit of a performing career. At age 13 he performed at the New Jersey Pavilion at the World's Fair in Flushing, New York with his first band, The Auroras.
