Journey In Satchidananda - Alice Coltrane. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей. A transcendental fuse of modal experimental Jazz and Eastern spirituality, inspired by the teachings of Swami Satchidananda. Track taken from the album in Satchidananda is the fourth solo album by Alice Coltrane. Its title and title track reflects Coltrane's inspiration by Swami Satchidananda whom Coltrane had become close to while being his disciple. Shiva-Loka, or realm of Shiva, refers to the realm of the third member of the Hindu trinity, the dissolver of creation. Stopover Bombay refers to a five-week stay in India and Sri Lanka on which Coltrane was due to go in December 1970. Something About John Coltrane is based on themes. Alice Coltrane's landmark Journey to Satchidananda reveals just how far the pianist and widow of John Coltrane had come in the three years after his death. The compositions here are wildly open and droning figures built on whole tones and minor modes. And while it's true that one can definitely hear her late husband's influence on this music, she wouldn't have had it any other way. Pharoah Sanders' playing on the title cut, Shiva-Loka, and Isis and Osiris which also features the Vishnu Wood on oud and Charlie Haden on bass is gloriously restra. Alice Coltrane made Journey in Satchidananda from an in-between place, amid the unlocatable flow of different emotions, different lives, different traditions. Coltranes music is a journey, this record says, and a In Satchidananda. Alice Coltrane - Journey In Satchidananda 1970. To favorites 4 Download album. Listen album. Alice Coltrane. The influence of Middle Eastern music is immediately obvious with the use of the tamboura, which lays a dreamlike, droning backdrop. Pharoah Sanders plays saxophone, more in the vein of his late 60searly 70s albums, as opposed to the unrestrained recordings of the mid 60s. The title track is a clear highlight and essentially sums up whats to follow built around the drone of the tamboura and a straight-forward bass line

Great release - just received, listening to it right now. I've only heard it otherwise on Amazon prime hi-res audio, this vinyl is a perfect pressing, detailed and dynamic, to my ear sounds fuller/livlier than the streamed digital hi-res. couldn't be happier. Gatefold is gorgeous.
A brilliant pressing! I own the original and it compares nicely.
Gorgeously pressed and quality gatefold. Warm and detailed sound for this one :)
How does this version compare to previous releases? Any idea?
The audio is perfect. I'm able to hear every intricacy Alice Coltrane implemented. The cover is glossy and gorgeous with a gatefold. This is a must for any Jazz fan.
Deodorant for your language
I agree, the audio is outstanding. Doesn’t sound digitally sourced to me.
I haven't compared to other pressings, but don't feel the need. I agree that it sounds pretty fantastic. Great album and the sonics on this version pull you right in.
Phallozs Dwarfs
It's likely sourced from digital so I wouldnt expect that much..
Hi Im interested in the Vinyl Me Please version of this LP. Have you compared it to any other pressings? Your review has made me interested in this copy since most reissues of this iconic album have gotten bad reviews.
